Zero-emission zones: can your van or truck enter the city?
Check access by registration, municipality and travel date. A low-emission zone differs from a zero-emission zone. Vehicle category, emissions class, first registration and any exemption determine access.
Can your diesel still enter?

Good to know
- The rules are national, but each municipality decides whether and when to introduce a zone and how large it is.
- Plug-in hybrid trucks can receive an exemption until 1 January 2030 if they demonstrably operate electrically within the zone.
- Municipalities offer exemptions, such as day permits or exemptions for special-purpose vehicles.

Start with the municipality and registration check
Use the official registration check and verify boundaries and start dates with the relevant municipality. Distinguish current rules from announced changes in your replacement plan. A proposed extension does not confirm access.
