Is an electric truck cheaper than a diesel?
Over the full ownership period it often is, especially at high mileage. An electric tractor unit or rigid truck costs more to buy but less in energy, maintenance and the Dutch truck charge. Whether that adds up for you depends on your mileage, your electricity price and the grant.
Is an electric van cheaper than diesel?
At average use they are close, and at low mileage diesel often still wins. Vans pay no truck charge, so the difference mostly comes from energy and maintenance. If you drive into cities, also check the zero-emission zones.
What are the total costs of a vehicle?
